The filing period for the November 8 General Election, which includes three seats on the Triunfo Water & Sanitation District Board of Directors, opens on Monday, July 18, and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12. Triunfo Board members oversee the District’s policymaking, executive/financial management, and long-range planning.
Triunfo Water & Sanitation District provides sewage collection services and wastewater treatment, supplies potable water, and treats and sells recycled water in the southeastern portion of Ventura County, including the communities of Oak Park, Lake Sherwood, Bell Canyon, and the Westlake Village and North Ranch portions of Thousand Oaks. The District covers approximately 50 square miles and serves a population of more than 30,000.
Candidates for the Board must be registered voters and reside within the District’s service area. Board members serve staggered four-year terms, with two terms expiring in one even-numbered year, and three terms expiring the following even-numbered year.
The Triunfo Board meets at 5:15 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at the Oak Park Library. Directors also serve on the Board of the Las Virgenes-Triunfo Joint Powers Authority, which meets at 5:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District offices in Calabasas.
Jane Nye, Janna Orkney, and Raymond Tjulander currently serve on the three Board seats to be filled on November 8.
