Calleguas Municipal Water District (Calleguas) provides water supplies to local water agencies that serve the communities of North Ranch and Oak Park. Calleguas and Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) each own and operate potable water systems largely dependent on imported water supply. The Calleguas water system currently relies on a single point of connection to receive imported water. Calleguas and LVMWD are constructing an interconnection to improve the redundancy and reliability of both water systems.
Traffic control measures will be in place along Lindero Canyon Road during construction. Calleguas and its contractor will endeavor to minimize construction impacts on the public. Work will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. Calleguas appreciates the patience and understanding of local residents during the construction of this vital water supply reliability project.
Project Objectives
- Improve the ability to provide potable water to you during periods of reduced imported water supply.
- Improve the reliability and flexibility of your water storage and distribution systems.
- Reduce the risk for potential water shortages associated with natural disasters, such as wildfire and earthquake, and required system maintenance.

WEEK OF MAY 22, 2023 – UPDATES
Daywork will be performed within Lindero Canyon Rd, between the Rockfield St and Lakeview Canyon Rd intersections. Work activity will include pipeline construction and delivery, with delivery trucks and dump trucks entering and exiting work areas. To perform this work safely during daywork hours, a partial closure of the Bowfield St intersection will remain in place, which will impact some turning movements. Traffic movements from Bowfield St onto Lindero Canyon Rd will be restricted to right-turns only. A partial closure of the Lakeview Canyon Rd intersection will occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., which will impact some turning movements. Traffic movements from Lakeview Canyon Rd onto Lindero Canyon Rd will be restricted to right-turns only. Please follow posted traffic signs and plan for extra travel time to your destination.
Work will also continue at the Pump Station/Pressure Reducing Station (PS/PRS) site located at 10 Lindero Canyon Rd. On Thursday (05/25), concrete placement is scheduled to commence at 5 a.m. to ensure that concrete is placed for the PS/PRS’ roof during cool morning temperatures. Please note construction is dependent on many variables, including, but not limited to weather conditions, and this information is subject to change.
Upcoming Activity
Nightwork for pipeline installation across the Lindero Canyon Rd/Lakeview Canyon Rd intersection is anticipated to begin at the end of May or early June. Schedule details will be released soon.
