A total of 36 winners in Southern California will be chosen, and their artwork will be featured in a professionally printed calendar and in a digital library.

This contest is now closed. Winners will be announced in early fall of 2026.

Our 2025 Winner!

Micah Aliling
7th Grade | Medea Creek Middle School

Artwork by 13-year-old Micah Aliling, currently an 8th grader at Medea Creek Middle School in Oak Park, was selected by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) to appear in its printed 2026 calendar and digital library.

“The drawing I made represents that water is the lifeline of our planet,” says Micah. “The Earth at the center of my drawing symbolizes how every drop counts—whether it’s filling a bucket, sustaining plants, or giving life to fish in the water."
